At 11:12 pm, on Monday, June 15, 2026, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a “cutting” call for service at 418 East 15th Street. When they arrived, 64-year-old David Kilpatrick was suffering from apparent stab wounds in apartment C. Simultaneously, officers also discovered 35-year-old Lapria Dawson suffering from injuries to her face and head. Both Dawson and Kilpatrick were taken to local hospitals where Kilpatrick succumbed to injuries while Dawson was treated and later released. The crime scene was then secured and officers notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit who arrived to process the scene and begin an investigation. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
