At 3:24 am, on November 2, 2025, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 2300 South Martin Street. When they arrived, they discovered 46-year-old Ahmad Kidd sitting inside the drivers’ seat of his vehicle deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit. Both responded and began an investigation. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was later notified.
During the course of the investigation, 24-year-old Darius Alford, 19-year-old Tywon Tuggle, and 21-year-old Thadeus Higgins were developed as suspects. Two of the suspects, Higgins and Tuggle were arrested in November of 2025; additionally, Alford was arrested July 23, 2026. All were served with Capital Murder for this incident. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
