City of Little Rock Public Relations (501) 371-6801 Little Rock Finance Department
The Winter Olympics are over and Americans are bringing home 28 medals—an impressive feat. This year, though, the City of Little Rock’s Finance Department brought home award number 50 from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
For the 31st time, the City of Little Rock has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for our comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) which is the annual audit of our City’s finances. And for the 19th time, the City was awarded the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award reflecting the City’s commitment to creating effective budget presentations.

So this year’s awards for the comprehensive annual financial reports and the budget documents produced annually by the City’s Finance Department take the total award haul to 50.
According to the GFOA, “The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.” The award commends the City’s “spirit of full disclosure” in communicating our financial story.
You can view the City’s award-winning budget documents and CAFRs on our website along with many other documents and resources from the Finance Department.
