River Mountain Park is Little Rock’s premier destination for mountain biking and the city’s only park dedicated specifically to the sport. Located along the Little Maumelle River near Two Rivers Park, the park features a professionally designed trail system with routes for riders of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced mountain bikers. In addition to mountain biking, the park offers opportunities for hiking, trail running, and access to the Little Maumelle River Water Trail, making it a hub for outdoor adventure in west Little Rock.
History
River Mountain Park was developed through a partnership between the City of Little Rock, the Arkansas Parks and Recreation Foundation, the Walton Family Foundation, and the local mountain biking community to create a world-class trail destination within the city. After years of planning and trail design, the first professionally built trail system in the Little Rock Parks & Recreation system officially opened in 2021.
Today, the park features 10 miles of purpose-built trails designed to accommodate riders of all experience levels, while also welcoming hikers and trail runners. The park continues to grow as a regional destination for outdoor recreation and serves as a key connection between the Arkansas River Trail, Two Rivers Park, and the Little Maumelle River, expanding opportunities for both land- and water-based recreation in west Little Rock.
