Kanis Park

Kanis Park is a community park in west Little Rock, known for its spacious green areas, wide range of recreational amenities, and role as a connector in the city’s trail system. Situated along Rock Creek, the park provides a mix of active play, sports, and outdoor relaxation for families and residents of all ages.

History

The land for Kanis Park was acquired from the E.D. Kanis family in 1968. Initial development began the following year, with further improvements in 1979 that expanded its role as a community hub. During that time, a link in the city’s bike path system was extended through the park, making it part of Little Rock’s growing trail network.

In 2020, six pickleball courts were added, reflecting the park’s ongoing evolution to meet the needs of today’s visitors.
