Pedestrian/Bicyclist Crash Analysis 2015
This Metroplan report summarizes the pedestrian and bicycle crashes over the last 10 years for the Little Rock metro area, indicating where crashes are most frequent, demographics, and injury severity. 

Dangerous by Design 2019 (2016)
Smart Growth America ranked Little Rock/Central Arkansas the 19th most dangerous metropolitan areas to walk out of the 104 largest metropolitan areas in the country, an improvement over 14th most dangerous in 2016.

Pedestrian Traffic Fatalities by State 2019 (2018)
Governor's Highway Safety Association (GHSA) report on pedestrian fatality statistics by state.  Per capita, Arkansas's pedestrian fatality rate is in the middle (however Arkansas' rural nature suggests less pedestrian activity per capita).  Arkansas's pedestrian fatality rate has increased 16.7% since the last measurement.

As bikes become a more recognized mode on a community's streets, all road users learn how to better see and accommodate them.

An Overview of Automated Enforcement Systems and Their Potential for Improving Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety 2017
Vehicles speeding and running red lights endanger all road users, but particularly bicyclists and pedestrians.  This December 2017 review of the literature shows that red-light cameras and automated speed enforcement cameras reduce the frequency and severity of collisions involving bicyclists and pedestrians.  

Summary of State Speed Laws 2013
Red light and automated speed enforcement cameras are only legal in Arkansas within school zones or railroad crossings and an officer must be present and the citation must be issued immediately following the violation (pg. 17).  Arkansas is currently reviewing this policy.

Guide for Improving Pedestrian Safety at Uncontrolled Crossing Locations 2017
This is the guidebook for the Federal Highway Administration's current (4th) Every Day Counts campaign, Safe Transportation for Every Pedestrian (STEP) program.  The STEP program focuses on increasing pedestrian safety at mid-block crossings.
