Steps to Bronze 2016
In 2013, along with the Honorable Mention designation, the League of American Bicyclists gave the City feedback about the current state of the City and how to become more bike friendly. The City did not create a webpage in 2016 to consider our progress from 2013 to 2016, however, the following gives some window to our efforts in those years.
Projects
The projects timeline (years 2013, 2014, and 2015) highlights infrastructure projects that made our built environment (engineering) more bike friendly between the two applications.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator
The City hired a part time bicycle and pedestrian coordinator in 2013 to help inform efforts to make the City more bike friendly.
On the Right Track
In April 2014, UALR published "On the Right Track" considering the current state of active transportation in Little Rock and future directions.
Imagine Central Arkansas
In December 2014, Metroplan published Imagine Central Arkansas, our community's Long Range Metropolitan Transportation Plan, with a focus on car-free transportation options.
Central Arkansas Livability Index
In December 2014, Metroplan published the Central Arkansas Livability Index, considering how biking and walking in our metro area compares to other metro areas.
Pedestrian/Bicyclist Crash Analysis
In 2015, Metroplan published the Pedestrian/Bicyclist Crash Analysis, considering bicyclist crash statistics in our metro area.
