Little Rock Parks and Recreation’s Therapeutic Recreation division enriches quality of life for people with disabilities by encouraging independence. 

WHAT:  The Adult Branch Out program will take a shopping trip to Savers thrift store to purchase special outfits for  upcoming holiday festivities.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—The Therapeutic Recreation division of Little Rock Parks and Recreation department serves adults and children with disabilities. This shopping trip will encourage independence and foster self-expression. More than 20 adults ages 19-45 will enjoy finding something they like while learning about social etiquette and appropriate attire for special events. This outing also offers a chance for each adult to learn the importance of budgeting. Each person will have $20 to spend on the items they choose. 

Then Thursday, Nov. 19, the group and staff will enjoy their annual Thanksgiving potluck at the Ottenheimer Therapeutic Recreation Center.
