LITTLE ROCK– The City of Little Rock has been named by LinkedIn as one of the nation’s top 25 fastest-growing cities for jobs, reflecting Little Rock’s economic momentum and strength as a healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics hub.
The world’s largest professional networking platform selected Little Rock as one of its cities “on the rise” and highlighted major initiatives such as expansion at the Port of Little Rock and extensive Downtown redevelopment.
“Our City consistently leads the way for the state and region in economic growth and resiliency because of our collaborative and intentional work to attract new, high-paying jobs to Little Rock and improve quality of life and place for all our residents,” Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. said. “This type of recognition is becoming commonplace as stakeholders like the Port of Little Rock, Little Rock Regional Chamber, Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and others recruit employers and share the great news about our City. Year after year, we have set records for the number of people employed in our community, and the best is still yet to come.”
LinkedIn identified its cities on the rise as metro areas with quality-of-life amenities and robust job markets.
LinkedIn’s report noted that Little Rock “is deepening its role in global supply chains through new investment at the Port of Little Rock, while a wave of downtown development is reshaping the city’s appeal.”
The ranking follows news from the Federal Reserve last year showing Little Rock has the second-highest GDP growth among regional state capitals and similarly sized cities. Arkansas’s capital city trailed only Nashville, Tennessee, in that ranking.
