Sheridan Richards brings over 15 years of values-driven leadership experience spanning the corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors. As Chief People Officer for the City of Little Rock she leads a team that collaborates City leadership to attract, develop, and retain the best talent in Arkansas’s capital city. Her portfolio includes benefits, risk management, civil service, classification and compensation, employee relations, labor contract negotiations and administration, organizational development, and recruitment and selection. She implements and monitors a comprehensive human resources administration system while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Prior to joining the City, Sheridan served as Executive Director of Organizational Development and People & Culture Partner Services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she led culture transformation, leadership development, change management, and performance strategy for a workforce of 10,000 employees.
Earlier in her career, Sheridan served as a regional HR leader in the private sector, managing multi-state human capital strategies across industries including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, accounting, law, and real estate.
Sheridan holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
