At 1:51 am, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a shooting at 5321 West 65th Street. When they arrived, officers located 30-year-old Cecil Medlock deceased from apparent gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. MEMS and RESCUE responded and provided medical care to four adult individuals who were then transported to local hospitals. Officers also contacted another adult female who refused medical treatment. Additionally, another individual transported himself to a local hospital. The Pulaski County Coroner responded and transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.
LRPD supervisors responded and notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit arrived to process the scene and began an investigation. This incident occurred in the Southwest Division and the investigation is ongoing.
