At 1:54 am, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Patrol Officers with the Southwest Division responded to 5720 Young Road in reference to a cutting call for service. When officers arrived, they located 44-year-old Ricky Burnett suffering from an apparent stab wound. MEMS responded and determined the victim had succumbed to injuries at the scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide detectives along with the Crime Scene Search Unit who began an investigation as the area was canvassed and witness statements were taken. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. This ongoing investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.

#Update: On July 17, 2026, Alejandro Torres, 43, of Little Rock was taken into custody without incident and charged with Capital Murder. This investigation is ongoing.
