Patrol Officers with the Southwest Division responded to 5103 Asher Avenue in reference to a shooting call for service at 2:04 am, on July 5, 2026. When officers arrived, they located 18-year-old Dillan Cheeter on the parking lot, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and performed life-saving medical care, however, Cheeter succumbed to injuries at the scene. Another juvenile who was also on scene suffering from gunshot wounds, was taken to a local hospital. A third juvenile would eventually arrive at another hospital via personal vehicle. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide detectives along with the Crime Scene Search Unit who began an investigation as the area was canvassed and witness statements were taken. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. This ongoing investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
