LITTLE ROCK – With the start of Memorial Day weekend and summer approaching soon, the City of Little Rock’s splash pads will be operational starting Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m.
Splash pads are free to use, and they will be accessible to the public throughout the summer. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Little Rock’s splash pads are located at War Memorial Park, 5511 W. Markham St.; Crump Park, 904 W. 33rd St.; and Riverfront Park (in Ottenheimer Plaza near the Junction Bridge.) A toddler splash pad, also in Riverfront Park, is temporarily closed because of a mechanical issue, but will be open soon.
Splash pads are just one aspect of summer activities and programming offered by the City of Little Rock. Other programs include Parks and Recreation Department youth camps, Midnight Basketball, and Summer Youth Employment through the Department of Community Programs.
The City of Little Rock’s website has a complete listing of programming, activities and events.
“Every summer, we focus on ways to engage the community and provide opportunities for children and youth to gather safely, connect, and have fun through City of Little Rock programs,” Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. said. “We hope our residents and guests have a chance to visit our splash pads, take part in summer activities, and enjoy the best of our community. It’s your City and your summer, Little Rock, and we are working together to make it a safe, fun season for everyone.”
