After responding to a shooting-in-progress call at 13500 Chenal Parkway at 8:54 p.m. on April 8, 2026, Northwest Patrol officers located 26-year-old Darius Pettis on a couch suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers provided aid until MEMS arrived and transported Pettis to a local hospital, where he was stabilized. The scene was secured, and a supervisor and Major Crimes detectives responded.
Update: On April 30, 2026, Pettis succumbed to injuries and this investigation is now upgraded to a homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
#Update: On May 5, 2026, Myles Ealy, 23, and 20-year-old Kaleb Jones were taken into custody and charged with Capital Murder. This investigation is ongoing.
