On April 18, 2026, at 11:09 pm, Northwest Patrol Officers responded to 11311 Mara Lynn Road in reference to an unknown trouble call for service. Simultaneously, at 11:13 pm, additional officers responded to 10724 West Markham Street in reference to a shooting victim. When officers arrived to West Markham, they discovered 28-year-old Zachariah Bryson, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded and transported Bryson to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The scene was secured and Major Crimes Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified.
Homicide Detectives along with the Crime Scene Search Unit were notified and responded. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area, looked for surveillance video, and spoke with witnesses. Maicio Brown, 28, of Little Rock, was developed as a person of interest in the incident and he was transported to the Major Crimes division. Brown provided a post Miranda statement, and he was released pending a file review by the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.

#Update: On April 20, 2026, LRPD Homicide Detectives took 28-year-old Maicio Brown into custody, without incident. He has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.
