2009 Brown Street Homicide

At 8:20 am, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 2009 Brown Street. Officers arrived and discovered 18-year-old Jayden Hoskins on the front porch suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite MEMS responding, Hoskins succumbed to injuries at the scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit. Both responded and an investigation was underway. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

During the course of the investigation, Detectives developed 20-year-old Jonathon Scott Jr. as a suspect in the incident. Detectives made contact with Scott Jr. who was taken into custody and transported to the Major Crimes Division for further investigation. He was subsequently charged with Capital Murder and transported to PCRJ without incident. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
