Little Rock, AR (5 August 2005) An organization of Little Rock firefighters is hosting their annual Back-to-School event to provide school supplies to underprivileged children. HOTTAR, Little Rock’s Chapter of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters, will be hosting “Project Fresh Start” on Saturday, August 13, 2005.
According to LRFD Battalion Chief Greg Summers, “Each year we give away in excess of $5000 in school supplies to underprivileged children.” The event will be held at Dunbar Community Center (1001 West 16th Street) from 9am- until all supplies are given away. In the past, the supplies have usually been given away by noon.
