Saving Our Sons Program

Mission:

The mission of the Saving Our Sons Program, is to empower young men in the Little Rock School District by fostering positive relationships with law enforcement, enhancing community engagement, developing essential life skills, and promoting academic success. Through mentorship, educational support, and community partnership, we strive to build a safer more unified community where every young man has the opportunity to realize his full potential.

Goal:

Our Goal is to create a nurturing environment within the Little Rock School District, where young men aged 12-18 are inspired to excel academically, develop strong social skills, and actively engage in their community. Through mentorship, education, and support, we aim to cultivate future leaders who are empowered to positively impact their world.

Principles:

Our Program runs on KNOT Principles focused on fostering a sense of brotherhood, solidarity and support.

• Kindness – Promoting compassion and empathy towards others, fostering good character.
• Nobility – Upholding principles of integrity, honesty, and moral excellence.
• Ownership – Encouraging accountability and commitment to personal growth.
• Tenacity – Cultivating resilience perseverance, and a steadfast dedication to goals

Expectations:

The S.O.S. Program requires that each student attend the Saturday sessions. They must achieve at least a 2.5 grade point average and have good citizenship at the end of each nine week grading period. Students that meet these expectations will have the opportunity to participate in S.O.S. reward events and activities. This may include a movie, dinner, dramatic play, college tours or professional sporting events.
