Rebsamen Park is an expansive riverfront property situated along a bend of the Arkansas River. While much of the property is home to Rebsamen Park Golf Course, the park also provides access to the Arkansas River Trail and features the Rebsamen Park Archery Range, a free public outdoor range that offers a unique recreational opportunity within the Little Rock park system.
History
Rebsamen Park is named in honor of prominent Little Rock businessman and civic leader Raymond H. Rebsamen, who played an important role in the city’s growth and development during the mid-20th century. In 1954, Rebsamen donated $30,000 to the City of Little Rock toward the development of a 27-hole municipal golf facility along the Arkansas River. The property grew into a major recreational area and continues to carry his name today.
Beyond golf, the property has developed into a broader outdoor recreation corridor along the Arkansas River. The Rebsamen Park Archery Range provides a dedicated space for public archery practice, while the Arkansas River Trail runs through the area and connects Rebsamen Park with Murray Park, the Big Dam Bridge, downtown Little Rock, and other destinations throughout the regional trail system. The City is also pursuing improvements to the archery range and supporting facilities to enhance recreation along this portion of the riverfront.
