Regional Parks

Regional Parks

Regional Parks are large, destination parks that serve residents and visitors from across Little Rock and beyond. These parks offer a wide variety of recreational opportunities, including sports complexes, extensive trail systems, waterfront access, major playgrounds, event spaces, and unique natural or cultural attractions, making them ideal for spending an entire day outdoors.

Community Parks

Community Parks are designed to serve multiple neighborhoods by providing a diverse mix of recreational amenities. These parks often include playgrounds, sports fields and courts, walking trails, pavilions, open green space, and community gathering areas that support both organized activities and everyday recreation.

Neighborhood Parks

Neighborhood Parks

Neighborhood Parks provide convenient outdoor spaces close to home for nearby residents. Typically smaller in size, these parks feature amenities such as playgrounds, picnic areas, open lawns, and walking paths, offering welcoming places for families, neighbors, and children to play, relax, and connect.

Natural Area Parks

Natural Area Parks are managed to preserve Little Rock’s native landscapes, wildlife habitats, and ecological resources. Unlike traditional parks, these spaces are intentionally left largely undeveloped and minimally maintained, allowing plants, animals, and natural processes to thrive. Visitors can experience forests, wetlands, streams, and scenic trails while enjoying a more rugged, authentic connection to nature and helping protect these valuable ecosystems for future generations.

Mixed-Use Areas

Mixed-Use Areas

Mixed-Use Areas are unique public spaces managed by Little Rock Parks & Recreation that don’t fit within a traditional park classification. These areas include promenades, streetscapes, wetlands, plazas, and other community spaces that enhance the city’s character, improve connectivity, protect natural resources, and provide places for people to walk, gather, and enjoy the outdoors. While each location serves a different purpose, all contribute to the vision of creating a City in a Park.
