Union Park

Union Park is a neighborhood park serving the John Barrow area of west Little Rock. The park provides a welcoming outdoor space for nearby residents with a playground, basketball court, pavilion, picnic areas, and open green space. Its convenient location and neighborhood-focused amenities make it a popular destination for families, casual recreation, and community gatherings.

History

Union Park has a unique history rooted in community partnership. The property was originally donated for use as a public park by the Union Missionary Baptist Association, reflecting a shared commitment to providing recreational opportunities for the surrounding neighborhood. After the property was later acquired by the City of Little Rock, it became known as West End Park.

In 2008, the park was officially renamed Union Park to honor its original donation and recognize the history of the Union Missionary Baptist Association and its contribution to the community. Today, Union Park continues to serve as a neighborhood gathering place while preserving the legacy of the partnership that helped establish it.
