Ninth Street Park is a small but meaningful green space in central Little Rock, providing residents with a convenient spot for outdoor play, community connection, and relaxation. Its central location makes it an accessible retreat within the city’s busy core.
History
The land for Ninth Street Park was purchased from the Little Rock Housing Authority, and the park was first developed in 1977. Its growth was interrupted in 1979 during the construction of the adjacent Wilbur Mills Freeway (Interstate 630), which reshaped the surrounding area. Despite these changes, the park has continued to serve its neighborhood as a much-needed open space.
