LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock welcomes residents to the next Mobile City Hall on Monday, June 2, at Second Baptist Church, 1709 John Barrow Road. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., residents can conduct city business and interact one-on-one with municipal leaders.

Mayor Frank Scott, Jr.'s Mobile City Hall initiative is a way for the City to foster connections with residents while at the same time providing an opportunity for residents to visit "City Hall" at their convenience, without having to come downtown during normal business hours.

Mobile City Hall is a family-friendly event featuring resources for residents to learn more about municipal government. Interactive games and activities will also be available.

City departments will offer a wide range of city services from police reports to building permits. Activities include displays of police, fire and sanitation vehicles, zoo animals, a food truck and more.

The City's Human Resources Department will conduct "instant interviews" for a variety of available City job openings -- several residents were hired on the spot for city jobs at the last Mobile City Hall earlier this month; and Mayor Scott will lead a community forum starting at 6 p.m. At that time, the Mayor and leaders from every City department will provide updates and take resident questions.

At Mobile City Hall, residents may:

  • Obtain or file police reports
  • Pay business license fees
  • Apply for City jobs with qualified applicants participating in "instant interviews"
  • Apply for building permits
  • Learn more about grant opportunities like Down Payment Assistance and Neighborhood Challenge
  • File code enforcement complaints
  • Submit 311 requests
  • Pick up a book as part of "Reading in The Rock"
  • Recycle electronic waste
  • Interact with animals from the Little Rock Zoo
  • Take part in Parks and Recreation demonstrations
  • Get a close-up look at city equipment like fire and police vehicles and a sanitation truck

Participants have the chance to win door prizes including free family admissions to the Little Rock Zoo, day passes for the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center, T-shirts and more.

In addition, organizations such as Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority, Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) and Get Loud Arkansas will be on hand to offer resources and answer questions.

Mobile City Hall will take place in Second Baptist's Family Life Center.
