History

Ottenheimer Park occupies 11 acres of land adjacent to the Missouri Pacific Railroad in the southwestern part of the city. The land of Ottenheimer Park was dedicated to the City of Little Rock in 1965 by Gus and Leonard Ottenheimer. Their desire was that the land be developed for use as a neighborhood park facility for the residents of the Cloverdale subdivision. Initial development of recreational facilities began in 1968. An existing log farmhouse on the site was remodeled into a community recreation center with a game room and meeting rooms provided.
